LEFORTOVSKIY TUNNEL AS A PART OF MOSCOW RING ROAD, RUSSIA
The automobile tunnel closed the Third Transport Ring. The left branch of the tunnel was laid at a great depth under the Yauza and Lefortovo Park, the right one was built in an open way, bypassing the protected natural and historical territory. Construction was carried out in conditions of dense urban development, in close proximity to architectural heritage monuments. The fifth longest urban tunnel in Europe.
The tunnel has the following systems: ventilation, lighting, water removal, gas level measurement, fire safety and smoke removal systems, video surveillance and communication systems. Management of utility lines is carried out in the central control center.

Institute Giprostroymost Saint-Petersburg was involved as a subcontractor in given project to design methodology, structural design, preparation of work documentation, SAC&D plus design of total construction work procedures.
